ABOUT ME
RJ McLaren is a professional tuba player teaching and operating in the greater Boston area. Playing regularly in the New England area, he's performed with a variety of ensembles from the Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra, BU faculty Brass quintet, to second line jazz groups and chamber orchestras. He holds a Masters degree from Boston University studying under Mike Roylance, Principal Tuba of the Boston Symphony and a Bachelors degree from Michigan State University studying with Phil Sinder, where he was a founding member of Grand River Brass, an ensemble part of the honors brass quintet program. RJ leads a tuba-euphonium studio in Boston, comprised of students ranging from middle school to early undergraduate; accomplishing and placing with great honors in district and state honor bands.
